Recruitment Statistics Out

All services met there active duty recruitment goals in November:

Accessions Goal Percent
Army 5,856 5,600 105
Navy 2,742 2,694 102
Marine Corps 2,127 2,026 105
Air Force 2,407 2,390 101

For re-enlistments, the Army is at 92% of there goal for the year while the Marines and Air Force had excellent re-enlistment rates through November. The Navy barely missed their goal (they are having trouble with a few specialty skills).

Three of the six reserve components met or exceeded their recruiting goals this month. The range was a high of 110% of goal for the National Guard and a low of 71% for the Air National Guard

Given these stats, it is hard to believe the doom and gloom you hear out of the MSM about the military being broken and the war being so unwinable.

A Good Day for Democracy

I hear that we are not making ANY progress in Iraq.

I hear that Iraq is the new Vietnam.

I see Iraqi's voting in groves and cannot help but feel that today's elections in Iraq represent progress toward a democratic, peaceful Iraq.

Will I ever learn not to trust my lying eyes? I hope not.
